7 Early Signs of Termite Infestation You Should Never Ignore

1. Mud Tubes on Walls or Foundations
Subterranean termites often build mud tubes to travel between the soil and their food source.
These tubes may appear along walls, foundations, posts, or other structural areas.
If you notice thin, soil-like lines attached to surfaces, it may indicate active termite movement.
2. Hollow-Sounding Wood
Termites usually consume wood from the inside.
This means the outer surface may still look normal even when the inside has already been damaged.
If wooden walls, floors, doors, or furniture sound hollow when tapped, further inspection may be needed.
3. Discarded Wings
Winged termites, also called swarmers, leave their colonies to establish new ones.

6. Difficult-to-Open Doors or Windows

7. Clicking or Rustling Sounds
In heavily infested areas, faint sounds may sometimes be heard from inside wooden structures.
Termites may create movement within galleries, while soldier termites can produce tapping sounds when disturbed.
